Hi Julie,

I think you meant "Recollections IV" I'm familiar with Processing and OpenCV, and am experimenting with OpenCV for its motion tracking features. My code is written in C and assembly on the Linux platform using the SDL and DC1394 libraries.

I don't capture into arrays, but process each frame as it comes in at 30 or 60 fps. A longer delay would be a problem for the user. This requires some real down and dirty programming to get the buttery smooth results I like. I don't think that Processing would be fast enough for my latest, high resolution real-time effects (not yet up on YouTube), but I'm often surprised by what the latest hardware can do. Processing is an excellent introduction to image processing, a great techno-art tool , and extensible. Have fun!

Hi,

I am a student at Utah Valley University and am taking a class using Processing. We looked at your Exhibitions IV video from YouTube and are wondering how you accomplished the movement. Did you do this in Processing? If so, to capture the video did you use a singe image capture, or an array class for each image? Did you use open CV? We would like any hints or resources you can refer us to.

Thanks for you time and genius!

Visited the Gilbert House in Salem, Oregon. Totally blown away with recollections exhibit, did not want to leave room. I do not see a price point for the equipment for DIY installation but the front desk gave me a round figure. Can you message me a price or point me to a post that addresses this?

Hi Mary Lou,
Thanks. I'd love to put together a traveling school version. It did travel with the "Mr. Roger's Neighborhood" exhibition put together by the Pittsburgh Children's Museum for temporary museum installations. The big problem has always been having a retro-reflective wall that could travel. I could probably make a foldable, mountable screen. Schools have projectors and screens now, so that's hardly an issue. Good idea.

I've had inquiries for personal installations, but so far haven't done any.

I'm not a child either, and never really intended it as a children's plaything. We are all kids at heart (I hope).

Regards,
et

I saw your installation at the Speed Museum again. I love it and I am not at child except at heart. Is there a version for individuals. Has anyone ever considered a traveling one that could go to schools?
